2. Data Collection and Storage
We do not collect, store, or share any of your personal data on our servers.
Day Buddy is a local-first application. All your events, reminders, and settings are stored locally on your device using an internal database.
3. Cloud Backup (WebDAV)
The app offers an optional WebDAV Backup feature. We verify the "Data Safety" section in Google Play declaring we do not collect user data.
If you explicitly enable and configure this feature:
- Your data (database backup) is encrypted and uploaded to your own private WebDAV server (e.g., Nextcloud, ownCloud).
- We (the developer) have no access to your credentials or files.
- Your WebDAV password is securely stored using Android's
EncryptedSharedPreferences.
4. Device Permissions
- Alarms & Reminders (SCHEDULE_EXACT_ALARM): Exact timing for your event notifications.
- Boot Completed: Reschedule reminders after device restart.
- Notifications: Display alerts in the system tray.
- Internet: Required only for connecting to your WebDAV server.
